Courses in social science research methods are central for developing knowledge and skills, both for conducting and for evaluating research. The importance is seen not least as courses in research methods are mandatory at all programs at the social science faculty.

Given this central role and the fact that feedback from teachers and students indicates that methods courses often are seen as challenging, we need to reflect on how we teach research methods. Does the teaching of research methods place specific demands on teachers and learners?

This seminar addresses the challenges of teaching and learning research methods. The seminar is organised as a panel discussion between experienced scholars who reflect on their experiences and discuss their teaching strategies based on their insight from teaching qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
