Call for papers: 2025 Summer PhD Methods Days
Lund Social Science Methods Centre cordially invite PhD students to the 2025 Summer PhD Methods Days!
The 2025 Summer PhD Methods Days takes place at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Lund University, 27-29 August 2025.
The aim of these days is to bring together PhD students from different disciplinary backgrounds to explore, deepen and expand existing knowledge and practices about social science methods and AI.
The Summer PhD Methods Days is organised around lectures and the PhD students’ own work. Presentations will be held in parallel sessions, and each presentation will get feedback from senior and junior colleagues.
Two keynote speakers will join the days: Associate professor in sociology, Moa Bursell, Mälardalens University and Institute for Future Studies, and Professor in theoretical philosophy, Johannes Persson, Lund University.
Participation is restricted to PhD students. We welcome applicants from all fields of study, who have an interest in social science methods and AI. You can either just have started diving into the world of methods and AI or being a fully-fledged expert! About 25 participants will be invited.
We welcome applications by PhD students by 15 May 2025. We welcome presentations (for examples papers in progress, draft applications, methodological challenges and ideas etc.) from all disciplines focusing on social science methods and AI. Guidelines for presentations will be sent in connection with the letters of approval by 30 May 2025.
Applicants are asked to submit an abstract (max. 300 words) for a presentation and a short biography no later than 15 May 2025.
The Summer PhD Days are free of charge for all PhD students at Lund University.
