X-courses
Do you want to try something new outside your main field of study or further deepen your knowledge? Lund University’s new x-courses are short, flexible, credit-earning courses that you can study in parallel with your programme.

The Faculty of Social Sciences' x-courses starting in autumn 2025
The courses are taught in English and can be applied for as independent courses (course code in parentheses).
- AI and Democracy, 3 credits (STVD01)
- The Role of Volunteering in Crisis and War, 3 credits (SESA03)
- An introduction to psychological defence – methods of analysis, threat assessment, and development of countermeasures, 3 credits (KOMD01)
- Intelligence Cooperation in an Uncertain World, 3 credits (UNDD01)
Apply for x-courses
You can only apply for these courses in the 'Swedish student' application round. To apply you have to go to the national application website for Swedish students www.antagning.se. Once you find the course there, you can follow the same steps as when you apply in the international application round.
Applying for studies – when to apply
Applying as an exchange student
If you are applying as an exchange student you can't apply via the national application website for Swedish students. Instead you need to add the course to your 'Proposed study plan' in SoleMove.
