Campus development
The Faculty of Social Sciences' campus development project aims to maintain and develop an attractive and sustainable campus environment that supports our main tasks: education, research and collaboration.
The project in brief
The campus development project covers the faculty's work with premises and environments in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. Our focus is to continuously work to create value for research and teaching. This involves, for example, renovating and extending existing premises. It is also about creating attractive outdoor environments or promoting sustainable utilisation of our premises.
Some ongoing and planned sub-projects
- Renovate Gamla Kirurgen, Gamla paviljongen, Gamla Polikliniken and Gamla Barnbördshuset (in different steps)
- develop a centre for social sciences
- develop the Campus Paradis park area
- participate in art projects in the Paradis area
Completed stages
Stage 1 (completed in 2013)
Renovation and extension of Eden (building H), including the relocation of the Department of Political Science’s library to the Faculty of Social Sciences’ library in Gamla Barnsjukhuset (building J)
Stage 2 (completed in 2019)
Renovation and extension of Gamla köket (building I), allowing for the School of Social Work to be located in the same building.
Stage 3
Renovating Gamla lungkliniken.
